one year d-versary

Some people call it the Diaversary, but to L that puts too much emphasis on the DIE and also, sounds a little like diarrhea, so we changed it to d-versary. It happened last month and we asked L if she wanted to do anything to "celebrate" and she just gave us a look that said, "Celebrate? Really?". We said she could have anything she wanted for dinner, so we had hashbrowns. They were delicious.

We reflected on how this past year has felt like both the shortest and longest of our lives. We are in a much better place now than we were a year ago. And she is much healthier and happier today.

Thank you to all our friends and family who have come on this journey with us. From the people who took those first shaky phone calls from the hospital, to the people who comment on posts on this blog, and everyone in between, we thank you.

  9. Happy D-versary. I celebrate mine on September 10th every year. This year was number 38 -- I was diagnosed in 1972. I hope next year is even better for you.

BTW, I'm adding your blog to the Diabetes Search tool that I created. Hope this is OK with you.
